I recently watched a special show called Christmas Under the Stars featuring Lauren Daigle. I was asked to review the performance and share my honest thoughts with my readers which I always do anyway!
First of all, Lauren Daigle has one of the most amazing voices out there right now. Christian or secular. Many people compare her voice to that of powerhouse singer Adele. I have to agree, but what Lauren brings is also a sense of vulnerability. To me, that is one of the biggest differences in terms of her voice.
Christmas Under the Stars is a different type of Christmas special, but then again, this is a different type of year. This performance is very scaled down so that Lauren’s voice is the star of the show. It has the feel of her being in your living room with a small band, singing Christmas songs. It has a very intimate feel to it which along with the music, gives it a different, jazzy vibe than other Christmas shows. Included with her performance are little interview parts where she shares about her family traditions around Christmas and lots of other interesting stories.
Christmas Under the Stars with Lauren Daigle is now streaming on demand on BYU TV. You can add the app on your favorite streaming device or watch online. You will not want to miss this one!
